How do I switch or rebuild my avatar?

Every avatar you build — whether from a photo or generated from a description — is saved, so you don't have to build the same one twice. This covers picking a saved avatar, removing one, and starting completely fresh.

Switching to a saved avatar

Your saved avatars appear as a grid of tiles above the upload/generate panel, most recent first, ten per page. Click any tile to make it your active avatar.

What happens next depends on your currently selected studio environment:

  • Already baked for this environment? It switches instantly — no wait, no rebuild.
  • Not baked for this environment yet? AwakeVerse rebuilds it automatically for the environment you currently have selected, the same composing-and-baking step as building it the first time.
tip

This means the same saved avatar can live in multiple environments — AwakeVerse bakes a version for each environment the first time you use it there, and reuses that instantly every time after.

Your active avatar is marked with an Active badge on its tile.

Removing a saved avatar

Hover over a tile to reveal a delete control in the corner, and click it. You'll be asked to confirm — click Sure? to actually remove it. Nothing is deleted on the first click; you always get a chance to back out.

Starting a fresh rebuild

Once you have an avatar built, an "Upload a different photo" link appears below it. Clicking it takes you back to the very beginning of avatar-building — you'll choose between Upload photo and Generate again, as if starting from scratch. Your other saved avatars aren't affected; this only resets what you're actively working on.

What AwakeVerse handles for you

  • Per-environment baking, cached automatically — you never manually re-bake an avatar for an environment you've already used it in.
  • Safe deletion — a confirm step before anything is actually removed.
  • Clean resets — starting a fresh rebuild clears out your in-progress state without touching avatars you've already saved.

When it's done

Whichever avatar is marked Active is the one that goes into your podcast — pick your environment, add a guest if needed, and move on to your script.
