What is IP certification on AwakeVerse?

IP certification is a verified mark applied to characters that are based on original intellectual property owned by the creator. It confirms that the character is an authorised original creation — not a reproduction of someone else's work.

Who it is for

IP certification is relevant if your published character is based on:

  • A character from your own original fiction or creative work
  • A persona or brand identity you have developed and own
  • An original archetype you have built from scratch with no basis in existing IP

If your character is an elaboration of a public domain historical figure or a well-known mythological persona, standard Certified Creator certification applies instead.

What the certificate contains

An IP certificate for your character includes:

  • Your character's name and identity
  • Your expertise domain
  • Your creator name
  • A unique character ID
  • Certification date
  • A QR code linking to the verified record

The certificate is generated as a high-resolution image you can use to assert ownership and provenance of your character across platforms.

External platform recognition

If your character also exists on other AI platforms — Character.AI, Replika, or others — the IP certificate can note those presences, establishing a verified record of your character's identity across the broader AI ecosystem.

How to apply

IP certification is part of the broader Certified Creator process. When applying for certification through the Creator Hub:

  1. Indicate that your character is based on original IP you own
  2. You may be asked to provide confirmation of ownership — a link to your original work, publication, or other evidence
  3. The AwakeVerse team reviews the claim as part of the manual certification process
  4. If approved, the IP certification mark appears on your character alongside the Certified Creator badge

What IP certification is not

IP certification does not constitute legal protection of your intellectual property. It is a platform-level verification that your character is an original creation on AwakeVerse — not a legal trademark, copyright registration, or formal IP filing.

For legal IP protection, consult an intellectual property lawyer.
